Employees of the State Institution "Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Ternopil region" are doing everything possible to combat the acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 among persons who, according to the legislation, are entitled to medical care in health care institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A medical post has been established in the institution for clinical triage of patients, and temperature screening of all employees and visitors. There are three medical teams for outpatient care for patients with suspected COVID-19, and one medical team for inpatient treatment of people hospitalized with pneumonia of unspecified etiology.

In the inpatient hospital with a polyclinic the institution, 10 beds are reserved to provide medical care to patients with the relevant diseases.

District general practitioners and medical teams for outpatient care of patients daily monitor the health status and record temperature screening of persons who are in self-isolation, contact persons with a patient with COVID-19, and patients of outpatient care with suspected COVID-19.

The provision of medical care for such patients at home is provided by mobile medical teams of the Ternopil City Municipal Emergency Hospital.

The institution has a permanent two-month supply of medicines and disinfectants.

3 oxygen concentrators were put into operation. The medical staff received detailed instructions on the rules of their safe use.

For 5 months, the specialists of the medical institution conducted more than two thousand rapid tests to determine the immunoglobulin M and G COVID-19 in employees of the National Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as their family members. All tests are stored in proper conditions.

The medical staff of the institution uses personal protective equipment in accordance with the approved methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Health.

There are enough disposable medical masks and gloves, biological protection suits, and disposable overalls.

3-M 6800 series masks with an exhalation valve provide increased reliability of the face and respiratory tract of a medical worker to protect against pathogenic factors. They can be used with various options of anti-aerosol filters.

After use, disposable personal protective equipment is disposed of as hazardous medical waste generated as a result of the treatment of patients with COVID-19 by neutralization in a specialized enterprise, according to the concluded contract.

Taking biomaterial for PCR tests for patients with suspected coronavirus infection is carried out at the Center for Preventive Medicine.

During the quarantine period, medical workers of the institution took 289 samples to determine the infection.

The epidemic situation among persons who, according to the legislation, have the right to medical care in health care institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, regarding acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, is stable and is under constant control by specialists of the Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
