Diphtheria prevention

Diphtheria is an acute infectious disease with an airborne transmission mechanism, characterized by local fibrinous inflammation (mainly of the mucous membranes of the oropharynx) and the phenomena of general intoxication with a predominant lesion of the cardiovascular and nervous systems, kidneys.

How to prevent disease.
The development of dangerous complications can be prevented by vaccination of children and revaccination of adults every 10 years.
Vaccination, like the transferred disease, after 1-1.5 years does not guarantee protection against infection and disease, but in properly vaccinated the disease will be much easier to progress than in those who do not have vaccinations. Therefore, it is so important to carry out both vaccination and revaccination on time.
To prevent the spread of the disease, early detection of the patient, his isolation and treatment, as well as the identification and sanitation of bacteria carriers are needed.
The purpose of vaccination is to create antitoxic immunity against diphtheria, the presence of which practically eliminates the risk of developing severe forms of diphtheria and helps to reduce the incidence.
Vaccination takes place in the vaccination room after a doctor's examination and the patient is properly informed about the manipulation that will be carried out.
