How to tell a depression from a bad mood?

Depression can manifest as increased fatigue during normal work. Also, reactions such as increased irritability, rejection of the positive of the surrounding world are observed - it seems to a person that everything is against her, or he becomes indifferent to what is happening around. Depression can be provoked by circumstances, more often it is provoked by the so-called inaction, when a person feels that she is not getting what she should, and her life is just existence. Often, depression slowly and imperceptibly takes over the mind and soul. Stressful situations provoke depression. Sometimes people do not suspect that something is wrong with them, or, conversely, they are fully aware of the presence of depression.

Depression can be experienced in different ways: someone is agitated and suffering from the inability to fall asleep, while someone is so inhibited that he is ready to sleep at work, but at the same time suffers from insomnia at night - he is annoyed by the slightest sounds, even those far outside the window ... Social behavior changes in a person with depression. She may try to avoid people, even those with whom she has had a close relationship. Feeling depressed, a person avoids those who could help her. In a state of depression, her intolerance increases, unusual character traits appear, and painful criticality. The experience of the disorder is always accompanied by several physical symptoms, and in some they may become the only manifestations of depression. Blood pressure may rise, appetite and sleep change, and discomfort appears in various parts of the body.
There are various forms and symptoms of depression, but they all reduce vitality, impair health, alter appetite and sleep, and reduce concentration and, consequently, memory. Depression "does not count" for nationality, culture, social status, gender, age.
Clinical consequences of depression:
Human immunity decreases, the course of existing diseases is further complicated. Depressive disorders double the risk of cardiovascular diseases, myocardial infarction, and contribute to the development of osteoporosis. The nervous system also suffers. Depression negatively affects memory, concentration, and other thought processes.
Depression influences pain perception too much. A person suffering from chronic joint or back pain feels it intensifies during depression. Many, categorically denying the presence of a depressive state, complain of wide, incomprehensible pain.

The most common masks for depression are:
Stomach ache. Treatment with therapists and surgeons does not bring relief. Headache. Pain relievers are almost ineffective. Patients are diagnosed with migraine or vegetative-vascular dystonia. They are treated for years without effect.
Facial pain. Imitates neuralgia of the trigeminal or lingopharyngeal nerves, diseases of the temporomandibular joint, teeth.
Cardialgia. The results of the cardiogram do not correspond to the patient's complaints. Heart medications reduce pain, but do not completely relieve it.
Joint pain. The X-ray picture does not correspond to the nature of the patient's complaints. The area of pain does not correspond to the area of damage to the nerve or joint.
Insomnia. Early waking up is characteristic. The patient wakes up with the feeling that he has not had a good night's rest, has breakfast with disgust for food and, having arrived at work already tired, needs rest, a cup of strong coffee or tea. The peak of activity of such a person is 12:00 noon, but until two o'clock the working capacity drops. By the end of the day, feeling very tired, often still cannot fall asleep until late at night. In the morning, the situation repeats itself.
Phobia. Fear with simultaneous understanding by the patient of its groundlessness. Often - fear of death from cardiac arrest, AIDS, stroke. Panic attacks. Fear increases at night and in the morning, decreases in the afternoon.
Sexual disorders. Sexual dysfunction is one of the first signs of depression.
Emotions are inherent in every person. The more a person learns, the more developed it becomes. Let this not be surprising, but the more stress, the more stable the nervous system. All great people have experienced and learned a lot of emotions, and, therefore, stress. As you know, “bad” people know how to do good deeds without knowing it. Negative emotions encourage people to take actions and actions that change their life for ... positive.
