Flu prevention

Influenza is a highly contagious viral disease with the potential for severe complications and risk of death.
Influenza has symptoms similar to those of other acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), but much more dangerous. At the first symptoms, see your doctor. Self-medication can be harmful to your health.
The influenza virus is transmitted by airborne droplets, airborne dust (viral particles are carried by air from a sick person to a healthy person during a conversation, coughing, sneezing), as a result of close contact (stay at a distance of about 2 m).

How to prevent getting the flu:
avoid contact with persons with manifestations of influenza infection;
• limit visits to crowded places;
• ventilate the room frequently;
• Wash your hands often with soap and water;
• do not touch your eyes, nose, mouth with unwashed hands;
• avoid hugging, kissing and shaking hands;
• Cover your nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing with a disposable tissue, which should be discarded immediately after use;
• if a person has flu symptoms, keep at least two meters away from them.

The best flu prevention is an annual vaccination.
Getting a flu shot every year is the best way to:
• reduce the risk of getting the flu;
• reduce the risk of serious complications, hospitalization and death.
The vaccine protects against all topical strains of influenza, is safe and effective. The best time to get vaccinated is on the eve of the flu season (in September). If this was not possible, then you can get vaccinated throughout the season. Contrary to popular myth, this does not weaken, but enhances the body's ability to resist the flu.
