Unfortunately, emergencies are part of our everyday life. And in the conditions of military operations on the territory of our country, the probability of being a participant or witness of psychologically traumatic events increases significantly. Therefore, knowledge of how to provide first psychological aid to victims of emergencies is very important nowadays. First psychological aid (FPA) involves the provision of psychological support and practical assistance to neighbors who experience suffering and need. The peculiarity of FPAP is that it can be provided not only by a professional psychologist but also by another specialist, a person who is familiar with the rules of providing such assistance.
That is why, the specialists of the Center for Psychological Aid and First Aid of the State Institution "TMA of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Ternopil region" organized and conducted an event for the medical staff of our institution, aimed at familiarizing with the 8-step model of providing first psychological aid, which is used in crisis situations by our Israeli colleagues. As well as with techniques that allow (if necessary) to stabilize the psychological state of a person who has survived a traumatic event.
