A gas cylinder exploded in the dining room of the training and recreation camp. A fire broke out. There are victims. Firefighters, an emergency medical team, and police arrived at the scene. All this is a scenario of joint operational and tactical exercises to eliminate the consequences of an emergency with mass casualties.

  

It was implemented by the final year students of Ternopil Medical University majoring in "Paramedic", as well as representatives of the departmental health care institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region. The training consisted of three stages: theoretical, practical, and final debriefing.

According to the legend, 15 minutes after receiving the report of the explosion, crews of the fire and rescue service, the National Police, and a team of paramedics arrived at the scene. 

  

Firefighters took the victims out of the smoky room and handed them over to paramedics who provided emergency medical care, involving additional teams of paramedics, firefighters, and police officers. 

  

Law enforcement officers ensured traffic safety, maintained public safety, and also practiced first aid skills - stopping bleeding, stabilizing the head and neck of the injured, ensuring the patency of the airways, transferring the victim to a stable lateral position, and maintaining the temperature balance in the victims.

The organizers are convinced that the police officers were helped in this by passing the course of first aid "First at the scene", which was organized at the Ternopil Medical University.

  

Head of the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medicine Arsen Hudyma says that the exercises were as close as possible to the real situation, and successful communication and teamwork between the rescue services was the key to the success of the rescue operation. 

The organizers hope that the exercises will be systematic for the professional training of police officers, firefighters, and medical workers.
