Every day they help residents of the Ternopil region to cope with illnesses, they save someone's life every day

The State Institution "Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Ternopil region" is a departmental medical institution that serves more than 16 thousand people. Every day, police officers, servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Police of Ukraine, as well as their families, receive comprehensive medical care.

- About 135 patients visit the clinic. The largest number of patients come to the therapists with respiratory diseases - acute respiratory viral infections and infectious diseases - Covid-19, - says Natalia Rubinska, deputy head of the hospital (with a polyclinic).

During quarantine, therapists work according to a separate schedule and in a specially designated room so that people with fevers do not intersect with other visitors. In the departmental institution, you can also get advice from a neurologist, surgeon, otolaryngologist, ophthalmologist, dentist, pediatrician, cardiologist, or dermatovenerologist, the Dossier 102 informs.

- Our patients can also be tested for Covid-19 - PCR tests, ELISA tests, and rapid tests for Covid-19 antigens. We also have digital fluorography, X-ray, and ultrasound examinations. Here you can pass general blood-urine tests, biochemical tests, cardiograms, Holter examination, and ECHO.

In medical practice, methods of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of most diseases are successfully used. The scope of examinations and treatment meets the standards of medical technology, which is controlled by the commission for quality control of medical care.

On the same premises as the outpatient clinic, there is also an inpatient department. In addition to active employees and their families, veterans and pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who have acquired chronic diseases during their service, undergo scheduled hospitalization here. Patients with symptoms of coronavirus are also treated in separate isolated wards.

- "In the process of increasing the number of patients, we began to admit and treat patients in the hospital," - said physician Victoria Pytel. For this purpose, oxygen concentrators and necessary medicines were purchased. Employees of the hospital are fully provided with personal protective equipment, and a disinfecting frame was purchased.

The hospital department is constantly developing and in the near future, according to Victoria Pytel, the management of the medical institution plans to purchase bedside monitors.

The specialists of the Center for Preventive Medicine closely cooperate with the medical staff of the hospital and the clinic. According to the head of the Center for Preventive Medicine, Yulia Nikolina, from the first days of the pandemic, the Center's epidemiologists have been both mentally and physically reorganized to work in times of dangerous disease. It is this institution that people who are sick with COVID-19 apply to and it is here that they take samples for PCR testing.

- Our epidemiologists investigate epidemic foci not only with COVID but also with other infectious diseases. Currently, the situation has improved. If at the peak of the disease we had 15-20 people every day, now it is 5.6 to 10 people.

During the entire period of the pandemic, doctors of the laboratory have examined almost one and a half thousand law enforcement officers and their families. The collection of plr tests takes place in an appropriate room and in compliance with all rules and regulations.

- We responded to calls effectively and in a timely manner and this allowed us not to stop the work of police units and the situation was under control. If any cases were registered, they were only isolated cases among law enforcement officers and their families.

At the beginning of the epidemic, doctors of the State Institution "Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Ternopil region" faced an unknown disease, but none of the medical workers avoided work and continue to perform it conscientiously. And all this despite the fact that out of 98 members of the medical staff, 77 were involved in work during the pandemic. 31 of them were infected with COVID-19, and three suffered from the disease in severe form.
