Social and Humanitarian Affairs Sector

The sector for social and humanitarian issues was created in pursuance of paragraphs 31, 32, and 33 of the Regulation on the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated October 27, 2015 No. 878, and to ensure timely and high-quality service for pensioners of the system of internal affairs bodies directly at the place of residence following the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine dated September 25, 2018 No. 787 "On organizational and staff changes in the Ministry of Internal Affairs."
The main task of the sector is to provide timely and high-quality services for the retirees of the IAB system directly at their place of residence.
The sector employees perform the following functions:
- keeping records of pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
- acceptance from a person who has acquired the right to a pension following the Law "On Pension Provision of Persons Dismissed from Military Service and Some Other Persons" dated 09.04.1992 No. 2262 - XII, an application and documents for appointment (recalculation) pensions;
- checking the correctness of the submitted documents for the appointment of a pension, the compliance of the personal information contained in them with the data of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine and other documents;
- preparation of information for drawing up certificates on the amount of cash security for recalculating pensions and for assigning pensions for the loss of a breadwinner to family members of the deceased;
- acceptance of applications and documents giving the right to obtain a certificate of a participant in hostilities, a badge "War veteran-participant in hostilities", blank sheets of coupons for the right to receive travel documents (tickets) with a 50 percent discount on their cost;
- acceptance of applications and documents giving the right to receive a certificate "Veteran of Internal Affairs Bodies" and a badge following the law, and to reimburse veterans of internal affairs bodies for expenses associated with travel for treatment and recreation in medical rehabilitation centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, sanatoriums and houses recreation;
- acceptance of applications and documents for the widows (widowers) of veterans of the Internal Affairs Directorate and members of their families to receive certificates of the right to benefits following the Law of Ukraine "On the status of veterans of military service, veterans of internal affairs bodies, veterans of the National Police of Ukraine and some other persons and their social protection ";
- submission to the authorized structural unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of materials regarding the appointment (recalculation) of pensions to pensioners of the Internal Affairs Directorate, persons entitled to receive a pension for the loss of a breadwinner, documents that are the basis for obtaining benefits, certificates, issuing certificates of cash support for recalculating pensions, etc. .;
- preparation of documents to the Fund for Social Protection of Disabled People to pay compensation for unused vouchers to disabled veterans;
- issuance to persons who have been granted the appropriate status issued certificates of a participant in hostilities, certificates "Veteran of Internal Affairs Bodies", badges, sheets of coupons;
- consideration of appeals, applications, and complaints regarding pension and social security of persons dismissed from the police department and their family members, as well as other correspondence on issues related to the sector's competence.
The sector has a double subordination: administratively subordinate to the TMO, and the operational management of coordination of pension and social and humanitarian issues of the Personnel Department, the organization of educational and scientific activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The sector interacts with the specialized department for the preparation of documents for the appointment of pensions, and the issuance of certificates, coupons, and certificates. SI TMA ensures the organization of the legal work of the Sector, as well as the representation of the sector in the courts.
